Trip Report from Scott:
I went out for a training paddle in Pool One while I am getting ready to try and set the Fastest Known Paddle time for the 2,341 mile Missouri River in June. I put in at the relatively new launch site just upstream from the Fork Parkway Bridge and paddled up to Bohemian Flats. I stopped for a little break and then started a new track on the Garmin app as I headed downstream. A few minutes in I realized I had a great tailwind and might as well see if I could beat Frank Bures’ Fastest Time on this stretch. To be fair, Frank had 15mph headwinds and I had a nice tailwind! Frank has already said he’s up for the challenge of trying to beat my new time. Neither Frank nor I paddled the stretch in high water, which would also make a big difference. It was a beautiful sunny day and I had a great time! Both Frank and I would love to have someone else compete with us. Make sure to read Frank’s report about his trip as it has lots of cool historical information.
